just thought about this...
was sitting eating dinner in the hall, and we hear the whistling kettle in kitchen indicating that it is boiled. out comes a voice from the kitchen "should i turn off the fire of the kettle?" later after a meeting downtown, we head out to grab something to eat. we have pretty much decided where to go, but it seems there is an offer to join a good ol family fren to eat somewhere nearby. so i reverse the car, wind down the window and ask me brainy sister to check with our frenny if she is still interested to grab a bite. she boldly asks "can we eat in kl?"
continue'in in the chapter of food... i came across this. while the chocolate article mayb a chocolate lovers dream, i got to da site more b-coz i didnt know amy can cook ;-)

Best Places to eat in the Klang Valley- yummieee
recently a friend of mine told me about real good char kue teow in da area, got me all excited n hungry. n all too recently i got an email about the best places to eat in the klang valley, which i will paste below. its just interesting that we go out in the quest for the best food. i mean the food ere is already good. i remember i couldnt eat a damn thing in cambodia... n really it was bad, not only was the food pretty much tasteless... the chicken was rubber. i guess in malaysia its not only the quest for good food, but its also a social thingy. people take their families.. not only immediate, the whole troop. n the best part is... a lot of people are willing to travel far for good food (notice how penang always comes up, which is painful as i was just there n didnt get anything). funny how obesity is not a problem here... but diabetes is ;-)
Best place to eat around Klang Valley
1. CHOW KOAY TIEW - Jalan Imbi : the corner restaurant which is on the same row with Sakura, and opposite of Honda Kah Motor.
2. WANTAN MEE/KARI MEE - End of old Subang airport road, in the Subang New Village Town Centre.
3. TAPIOCA NOODLES& VEGETABLES - Old Klang Road : a shack which is nestled behind a chinese primary school, after the market and the post office (which would be on your left).
4. KARI MEE (LEMAK) - SS1, PJ : Alisan Restaurant (2nd shop fromcorner), facing the Lorenzo Furniture Shop.
5. ROAST DUCK RICE - Seapark : Sunrise Coffee Shop
6. PRAWN MEE/KARIMEE/CHEE CHEONG FUN - Seapark: Coffee Shop near old Paramount Theatre.
7. CHICKEN RICE - Seapark: Coffee Shop opposite Seapark Market, run by 2 ladies whose husbands have since died.
8. FISH HEAD BEE HOON - Jln Gasing, PJ. Seng Kee Restaurant, in row of shops behind Lotus Restaurant.
9. MISCELLANEOUS - SS24 Tmn Megah: take the LDP and exit left after the Kelana Jaya LRT Station (towards"SS24").A hawker centre with over 70 hawker stalls (!!) allserving different dishes, no duplicates (!!), which boast the best of each kind in town (!!) not too difficult tolocate.
10. YONG TAU FU - Ampang New Town/Ampang Village (there are 3shops, so have your pick)
11. PAN MEE - Along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman behind KahMotors.
12. HOKKIEN MEE - Petaling Street opposite Hong Leong Bank
13. CHAR SIEW RICE - Jalan Tung Shin
14. NASI KANDAR - Kayu Nasi Kandar Restaurant in Taipan, Subang with a branch in SS2 a coffee shop formerly known as Cheow Yang
15. Teh Tarak & roti - Taman Desa next to the water tank
16. If money is not an issue - Madam Kwan (Nasi Lemak & curry fish head)
17. Little Penang (chow Koay Tiew & Prawnmee)
18. Bak kut teh - Jalan Imbi behind hong leong bank
19. Satay - Naan Corner in Ampang, in between International School and RSPCA, called Nur Satay.
20. Banana Leaf - Kannas in SS2, behind Lisa De Inn hotel
21. Nasi Lemak - Suzi corner, next to Ampang city (used to be called Kerris)
22. Won Ton Mien/Char Siew - Jln Sungai Besi; on the way to PLUS. Only open at 7pm-2am, a car repair shop by day.
23. Beef Brisket noodles - Tengkat Tong Shin; runs parallel to Jalan Alor.Stall near the beginning of the road. Open at night till late.
24. Char Siew/Chicken rice - Tengkat Tong Shin; further up the road. Old prewar shop house. This has to be the drop dead unhealthiest piece of anything you can insert in your mouth in KL? but to die for. Chicken is strictly as filler to make sure you don't get a heart attack overdosing on char siew.
25. Fish balls - Tengkat Tong Shin; a little further up the road from char siew. Stall inside a coffee shop. This guy is good, look at the amount of people he employs to helpout!
26. Hokkien mee (KL style -thick, black, yummy (sounds kinky)) Petaling Street; at the intersection opposite Hong Leong Bank. Full of porcine goodness. Still the gold standard of Hokkien mee.
27. Seafood noodles - Segambut; near Auto Bavaria. A big bowl full of noodles and assorted mussels, prawns, cuttlefish, fish etc. for reasonable price. Pick of soup, clear, tom yam, curry. Forget the rest, or for the curry. Soya bean with cincau not bad. Avoid on Sunday mornings. You will wait for an hour. Fried Chicken Rice (only on Weds and Sat)!! There is a branch now open in SS2 Chow Yang, called Restoran Yu Ai with yellow sign board, just a few doors away from Kayu Nasi Kandar.
28. Ploughman's Lunch ? Finnegan's Seri Hartamas. A big plate filled with a pot of pate, slices of ham, pickle, onion, chunks of cheese, a slab of butter, 4 hunks of bread. If you are EXTREMELY hungry, this one's for you.
29. Chef's salad - Flagz; behind Souled Out. This salad is as all salads should be - crunchy FRESH veggies, and the dressing is to die for. Easily the best salad in town. And I don't even like salad. Beer is the freshest in town too, great bite.
30. Hokkien Mee (Penang style otherwise known as Prawn noodles) Champ's; Jalan Telawi 3, Bangsar Baru. Standard gone down somewhat recently, but still head and shoulders above all others in KL.You'll have to go to Penang to beat this.
31. Char Kway Teow Bukit Damansara; behind Hock Lee supermarket, next to Shell. Corner stall inside coffee shop. Best in KL. The fellow has been frying for longer than I can recall, and he is so good that you may have to wait up to 45 minutes during lunchtime. Doesn't use too much oil almost perfect. As above, you'll have to go to Penang to beat this. Other stalls in the same shop not bad.
32. Chicken rice Jalan Gasing; very close to the Federal Highway, same row as Southern Bank 2 shops one in the middle, one in the corner. Can't decide which is superior, but both are very good. Middle one has Ipoh taugeh.
33. Bak Kut Teh Klang, just about anywhere. Hokkien Association off the main highway leading to the heart of Klang is a good place tostart for beginners.
34. Dim Sum ? Marriott Hotel. Chinese restaurant here serves northern China style dim sum. Easily best dim sum in town. A little pricey.
35. Fish head off Jalan Sungai Besi; just past Won Ton Mien, turn left right after BP. Three shops clumped together. All look dilapidated but don't worry. Don't know what type of fish they get their heads from, but I suspect fresh water fish. Hot sauce fish head to die for. Extremely reasonable prices.
36. Bak Kut Teh Segambut; go past Auto Bavaria, follow road all the way until you see a Chinese temple on your left. Enter the templecourtyard and you will see a tin shack where they serve bak kut teh. Not quite up there with Klang, but nothing to sneeze at. Go for yam rice rather than white rice. Fried Chicken Rice (only on Weds and Sat
37. Nasi Kandar/Kerabu/Laut Taman Tun; the other end of Secret Recipe in a store on the same block, usually with a van outside. TrulyKelantanese style. Only in the morning though.
38. Seafood ? Pulau Carey; get to Jalan Banting and follow signs to Pulau Carey. Place called Kang Guan, just before the actual bridge onto the island. Cheap!
39. Nasi Lemak TangLin at Lake Gardens, near the Clinic/Hospital. Only open when government depts open.
40. Chicken rice - Bing Restaurant in Sri Rampai. Wait till you drop to eat the chicken rice. Worth it

naw-ruz
yea, B.E 162 (Bahai Era)
after 19 days of fasting, was lookin forward to some partyin during da new year. however, i had to go 400km up north to attend me couzie's engagement party. learn lotss...
the dude is gonna marry an indian gal, so the gals family had the engagement party in the temple. they had to prepare like 15 trays of stuff as a form of gifts to like "buy" da girl. so the parents from da future groom n bridegroom sit opposite each other, n the priest starts sayin prayers. and they take one of the tray's that has a sari on it... takes it to da gal who is hiding somewhere. everyone waitss... while the music continues to play (at deafening levels) and the camera man continues to walk around with his burning hot light ( n its literally burning, as it kills all the bugs n lizards that come within a half meter radius with the light- this i know from the trail of fried bugs n smoke i saw coming out of the light- got worried n told da chap, but he said its smoke from the fried bugs... so he knew it was burning hot, y keep it on even when not filmin??!)
then da gal comes back with the sari, they give her another tray with some jewelry. she leaves again... n after wat seems like eternity.. again.. comes back with the jewelry on. by this time the packed hall in the temple is half full. nope they didnt go home... people were rushin to go eat. the family of bride to be sponsored vegetarian banana leaf rice. n since the engagement started a lil late, n since it took the gal foreva to get dressed... it already reached dinner time. thens when i realized most of the people must have been there for the food. come on.. who is gonna miss out on banana leaf rice rite? heck, there were not enough chairs n tables to fit everyone, so they queued up to take turns to eat. n the ceremony was still goin on inside the temple.
man i was having a good laugh. also was lookin forward to some char kuey teow n laksa. which i never got coz me dad decided to go exploring the area to reminiscence his past.
its lucky we got back to me aunts place in time for liverpool vs everton, n a sweeet sweeettt victory.

month of march..
while i would have thought that starting uni would have given me more time to blog, instead i was hired to do work during much of this fasting month . did ushering and ticketing for the disney on ice show. followed by the sound of music that runs till arpil. while i must say that is an interesting experience from working backstage with the performers to dealing with a host of different types people, from those in managing to the nice people who came to enjoy the show and not forgetting some who live in their own world and think they own the place cause they bought a ticket (usually the cheapo's - and they think they got the most expensive tics!)
i also learnt that all the really really really rich people always get free tickets and free drinks n food etc. i guess that is how they keep on getting richer and richer - well now it makes sences doesnt it?!

interesting note from mr.Subang.. or should i say Doc Subang ;-)
i cant imagine if there were kids or even pets. but i think i am just plain lazy at this moment. today i hear that one of me task is to organize a "cultural nite". right away i am thinkin "wat the hell for? its a total waste of time... doesnt she know the amount of organizing n effort and a host of other stuff..." plus, its for the whole uni. its insane. got an instant headache, n i left like all my hair turned grey (but after checkin in the mirror, its stil da same) ! wat happened to the good ol essays when i want em?!!
tomorrow gonna b even more challenging... working for a "disney on ice" show while fasting. lucky got me mates to accompany me.
still puzzles me y people would wanna pay to c disney characters ice skate??
mayb its just to sit in somewhere cool in this amazing heat!

da theory sticks...
lookin back at the last time i managed to blog... it was on the day of me last paper!!!
now i am back in uni for a phatetic 1 subject, and of course 2 pointless timewasting compulsary papers the governments forces everyone to take.
a friend asked me wat i did for me hols... n it took me sometime to answer.. well lets c.. wat did i do?? almost four months passed, i wanted to catch up on movies n play lotsa sports..
didnt catch up on movies, but had a fair deal or playin n watchin football, n bball. other than that, been kept on me toes. in fact, i figured i had to wake up earlier then usual on many days.. either sendin one of me many sisters to work.. or run errands.. or meet up with someone.. its funny, but i am alwitz more busy during the holidays then i am during my semester. wonder wat isit like when i start work... hopefully the theory sticks - then i will b pretty free while i is working :-)
